As I was editing Brittany and Kody’s engagement I was thinking about WHY pose people as you photograph them? What makes you good or not-so-good as a poser? What is the goal to posing? Is it ingenuine to pose people you’re taking pictures of because you’re setting the scene and not necessarily just “documenting” your couple?
As I was thinking about this, I decided that the goal of posing is to get people comfortable in front of your camera so that (eventually) their personalities shine through and you’re documenting the COUPLE, not your POSE.
SO, I find that I achieved this goal with Brittany and Kody!! Their sweet, but still fun-loving, personalities shone in their engagement session. AND we were able to hike to the neatest old mill ruins!! Enjoy their gallery 🙂
