School Picture Day is both dreaded and beloved. Dreaded by children who have look their best for long amounts of time. Beloved by the moms and dads who get head shots of their precious, squirming, force-smiling children who would much rather be outside playing in the dirt.
When the Shawnee Classical Conversations Community asked me to do their school pictures, I knew that I wanted to take the photographs outside to a green, leafy, naturally-lit area. The chosen spot was West Flanders Park, a lovely little park with curious trees.
It was such fun getting to know the students as I captured their smiles and personalities. One little girl couldn’t stand still due to her joyful dancing. Another boy made such a great zombie face that he actually scared me. It’s such a joy to be able to get to know so many new people.
So, feel free to sit back, relax, and watch this lovely slideshow of these lovely children and their families. When you finish, feel free to comment below! What did you love/hate about school pictures?
